Anne Fougeron Over three decades of distinguished practice, Anne Fougeron, FAIA has advanced a humane modernism and a model of practice dedicated to making the dignity and inspiration of good design available to all. Whether integrating affordable housing into San Francisco’s Transbay district; instilling the Ingleside Branch Library with a welcoming, civic presence, or sensitively nesting the Fall House into the Big Sur coast—Anne creates buildings that serve and inspire their inhabitants which foster connections to their physical and cultural contexts.   

David Baker David Baker, FAIA, is the founding principal of David Baker Architects, a progressive and collaborative firm based in San Francisco that creates acclaimed buildings in urban environments. DBA is known for exceptional housing, creative site strategies, designing for density, and integrating new construction into the public realm. David is a 2017 Distinguished Alumnus of UC Berkeley, where he currently teaches the James R. Boyce Affordable Housing Competition Studio. 

Julie Eizenberg Julie Eizenberg, FAIA, RAIA has given visibility to the design value and potential of community projects. She is a Founding Principal of KoningEizenberg Architecture, responsible for setting the design vision. Her focus on the user experience brings an empathetic perspective that transforms mundane programs into places of ease and generosity. In 2012, she and founding partner Hank Koning were awarded the AIA Los Angeles Gold Medal in recognition of their lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture, and in 2016 she received a PhD (Hon.) from the University of Melbourne, Australia.

Neil Denari Neil Denari

is principal of NMDA and was Interim Chair of Architecture at UCLA -- where he currently teaches. He received his M.Arch from Harvard University in 1982. He was the Director of SCI-Arc from 1997-2002 and lectures worldwide. In 2015, he was elected to FAIA, and he is the recipient of an AIA-LA Gold Medal, two National AIA Awards, a Progressive Architecture citation, and eight AIA Honor Awards. He has authored Interrupted Projections, Gyroscopic Horizons, and Mass X

Stanley Saitowitz Stanley Saitowitz has practiced and taught architecture for more than 45 years. He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and received his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Witwatersrand in 1974 and his Masters in Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley in 1977. His first house was built in 1975, and together with Stanley Saitowitz/Natoma Architects Inc. has completed numerous buildings and projects. These built works have been residential, commercial, and institutional. He is Professor Emeritus of Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley and has taught and lectured extensively in the United States and abroad.

Thom Mayne Thom Mayne is founding principal of Morphosis, a global architecture firm engaged in architecture, urban planning, and research since 1972. Mayne also leads The Now Institute, a graduate studio at UCLA dedicated to applying design thinking to real-world issues facing cities today. Mayne's distinguished honors include the Pritzker Prize (2005) and the American Institute of Architects Gold Medal (2013).

Frances Anderton: Frances Anderton is host of DnA: Design and Architecture, a weekly radio show broadcast on KCRW NPR station in Los Angeles. Anderton also curates events and exhibitions. She has served as correspondent for the New York Times and Dwell magazine. Her books include Grand Illusion: A Story of Ambition, and its Limits, on LA’s Bunker Hill (UCS School of Architecture, 2011), and her honors include the Esther McCoy 2010 Award for educating the public about architecture and urbanism. 

Rafi Segal Rafi Segal, PhD is an architect and Associate Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at MIT where he directs the SMArchS Urbanism Program (Master of Science in Architecture). His work involves design and research on both the architectural and urban scale, currently focusing on how emerging notions of sharing and collectivity can impact the design of buildings and the shaping of cities. He is the author of Space Packed: The Architecture of Alfred Neumann (Park Books, 2017), among other books and articles. 

Stephen Phillips Stephen Phillips, AIA, PhD is principal architect at Stephen Phillips Architects (SPARCHS). He is Professor of Architecture at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and Founding Director of the Cal Poly L.A. Metro Program in Architecture and Urban Design. He is author of L.A. [Ten]: Interviews on Los Angeles Architecture 1970s-1990s (Lars Müller, 2014); and Elastic Architecture: Frederick Kiesler and Design Research in the First Age of Robotic Culture (MIT Press, 2017).
