The World Architecture Festival Awards 2015 is in full swing at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, and the Day 1 category winners were revealed! The anticipated international live competition lets anyone apply and have a chance to win. Festival attendees also get to see the competition unfold before their eyes as they watch architecture teams present their projects and listen to critiques from the "super jury".
Competition is bigger than ever, with this year's shortlist rounding up 338 projects across 31 categories from architects based in 46 countries — including works from famous firms. By this Friday, one building will be crowned World Building of the Year, the coveted overall winning prize.
On opening day, the jury selected eight winners for the Completed Buildings category and seven Future Projects winners.
This year's super jury includes: Royal Gold Medallist Sir Peter Cook (UK), Sou Fujimoto (Japan), Benedetta Tagliabue (Spain), Charles Jencks (UK/US), Kerry Hill (Singapore) and Manuelle Gautrand (France).
