The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has announced a record-breaking number of winning projects as part of their 2023 Award of Excellence program.
Featuring over 100 total built and yet-to-be-realized designs that span the global landscape of architecture across a wide gamut of typologies, clientele, and social intentions, the list looks annually to celebrate projects that “adopt the most innovative approaches and solutions to some of the most pressing challenges.”
CTBUH’s CEO Javier Quintana de Uña commented: “All of this year’s Award of Excellence winners demonstrate that it is possible to consider state-of-the-art technical solutions, transportation, public and cultural institutions, green spaces, commercial enterprises and other crucial infrastructure holistically and adapt them broadly and equitably for positive, sustainable outcomes.”
Each winner will now go on to compete for “best in category” distinctions at the CTBUH 2023 International Conference, held from October 16th to the 21st in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
“The most successful cities in the future will intrinsically weave the natural world into the urban fabric to not only address climate change but also support ecological biodiversity,” HKS Principal and Future Project category juror Julie Hiromoto commented finally.
Here are the projects in their selected categories.

It would be very helpful if the locations of every project shown on Archinect are given.
