An international competition to build the new Museum of Architecture and Design in Helsinki, Finland, has been launched.
The initiative is part of the previously announced Helsinki South Harbor Makasiiniranta redevelopment that is being planned by a consortium including Niam, K2S Architects, White Arkitekter, Ramboll Finland, and Rakennuttajatoimisto HTJ Oy.
The deadline to submit an entry to the contest is August 29th of this year. The winner will be named following the culmination of the two-phase judging process in September 2025.
The foundation behind the competition says: "Based on the competition, a more detailed timeline will be made on the development, zoning and construction of the new museum building. The timeline towards the opening of the new museum will be updated during the process."
The competition listing can be found here on Bustler.
