The shortlisted projects in the Façade 2022 Design and Engineering Awards have been announced: Seven new build projects have been added, joining the other 35 buildings and six engineers shortlisted for the honors.
The awards program is a joint venture between the Society of Façade Engineering (SFE) and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineering (CIBSE) and recognizes excellence in façade engineering. The eight prize categories include UK Project of the Year – New Build, UK Project of the Year – Sustainability, International Project of the Year – Innovation, UK Project of the Year – Innovation, Project of the Year – Refurbishment, International Project of the Year – New Build, Product of the Year, and Young Façade Engineer of the Year.
“Many of the award entries were keen to demonstrate that both embodied carbon and carbon in use are important components in informed decision-making façade selection and design and execution,” said Chris Macey, Wintech CEO and Chair of the SFE Judging Committee.
