GRAY Magazine announces its finalists for the 2018 GRAY Awards. Out of 300 plus submissions, 50 finalists have been selected across eleven categories. Designers and manufacturers across the Pacific Northwest were invited to submit products and projects focusing on various categories in design, including the "Design for Good" category which highlights designs that make a difference socially or environmentally.
A panel of international design stars—including Jaime Hayon, Elaine Molinar (Snøhetta), David and Peter Walker, Ken Fulk, the team of AvroKO, and Adam Lippes, cast their eye towards the Pacific Northwest. GRAY Award winners will be revealed November 29, 2018 at The Sanctuary Seattle, designed by Philippe Starck and ZGF Architects. Tickets for the event go on sale on October 19th.
Winners will receive a custom-designed contemporary glass art trophy, handcrafted exclusively for the GRAY Awards by John Hogan, Seattle-based artist and product designer. GRAY has also selected the BLOCK Project, a non-profit program started by architects and dedicated to alleviating homelessness in Seattle, as its charitable partner for the second year in a row to receive 50% of the GRAY Awards Party ticket proceeds.
