LEGO Architecture is making its European debut on August 1 in the "Villa Pennisi in Musica" event at the 19th-century Pennisi Villa in Italy. The event is part of a program that brings an Italian architecture summer school and a classical music masterclass under the same roof.
By using LEGO Architecture to form their ideas, architecture students will find creative solutions to design and build a wooden acoustic shell for outdoor chamber music performances -- in less than 10 days.

Read more about the event below.
"This will be part of a program of classical music master classes, architectural workshops and chamber music concerts held this August in the amazing ancient villa owned by the Pennisi family since the 19th century. The villa was once a hotel in which Wagner passed some time and today is a family house and a space where arts and music are mixed with the magnificent woods and plants of the garden.
This year a group of young architects -- lead by architects, lighting designers and acoustic engineers -- will design and build an acoustic shell for outdoor chamber music concerts. During the event, CMMKM Architects will host a workshop on the design process and the basic principles of architecture in LEGO forms. Students and architects will get a hands-on opportunity to explore concepts and discover new insights by constructing 3D LEGO models of their acoustic shell.
The workshop will also take the students through every aspect of a live classical music event production from the building of the stage, to lesson of acoustic design (held by Buro Happold Senior Acoustic Consultant Serafino Di Rosario) and lighting design. More technical details about the structure and the way it is built can be found here.
Additionally, students will also participate in a unique building competition to create 3D thematic models using the new LEGO Architecture Studio Set."
